Eastbourne is officially the sunniest place in the UK and is also the UKs number one holiday friendly destination. Eastbourne is set in the South Downs countryside, and so makes an ideal base if you’re planning on discovering this beautiful place.  Airbourne is Eastbourne’s annual free air show and is the biggest air front sea show in the world you can watch aerobatics and demonstrations, a great family attraction that continues for 4 days, perfect entertainment!

Kids will love what’s on offer in Eastbourne and you must visit Drusilla’s zoo, where you will see hundreds of exotic animals including monkeys, otters, penguins and meerkats, you really can get close to nature here, and you can also ride on Thomas the tank engine, brilliant fun for the kids!

You must also discover Battle Abbey, Battle and Hastings on the Sussex coast, which is made up of the old town and the new town, Hastings is very much known for the Battle of Hastings in 1066, and you have got to see Hastings Castle which is absolutely magnificent and Pevensey Castle equally as stunning.

If you want the great outdoors, you’re going to love it here as the South Downs national park starts in Eastbourne, at the foot of Beachy Head. On the South Downs you will experience breathtaking views and stunning countryside, follow the South Downs Way which is a stunning 90 mile ancient trail and is great for walking, cycling and horse riding, you can also take a guided walk or f you feel confident go on a self guided walk, The South Downs cater for all abilities whether you want a 2 mile walk or a 20 mile walk, all abilities are catered for here.
Beachy Head is a national beauty spot and is the UKs highest sea cliff, measuring 530 feet high, with breathtaking views over Eastbourne and the English Channel. Wheelchair users can also experience these views by using the accessible peace path on Beachy Head. Go on sightseeing tours of the South Downs, or take a boat trip to the famous lighthouse.
Take some refreshments in the Beachy Head pub here you can have a drink, enjoy a meal and admire the spectacular views over Eastbourne.
In October runners from all over the world descend on the South Downs and take part in the Beachy Head marathon, which is a 26 mile course across this famous spot.
The Seven Sisters country park is a must see for visitors, here you can enjoy forest walks, village pubs and great family attractions. You will even get the chance to canoe along the Chuckmere Valley, and admire the chalk hillside figures, take a stroll down to the sea and admire the stunning chalk cliffs of the magnificent Seven Sisters.
